Background on Our Union

We are the workers of Healthy Living, united in our commitment to fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect on the job! We are comprised of Healthy Living workers at the Saratoga, South Burlington, and Williston locations.

On April 1, 2026, more than 50 workers from all three stores launched our campaign to form a union. After a supermajority of workers signed union authorization cards, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) scheduled a union election for April 30.

During the campaign, Healthy Living hired union avoidance consultants and engaged in an anti-union campaign in an attempt to discourage workers from organizing.

Despite those efforts, we stood together and won our union election on May 1 by a decisive vote of 105–69 in favor of union representation.

Instead of accepting the results, Healthy Living's owners filed objections with the NLRB in an attempt to overturn the election and force a rerun because they disagreed with the outcome.

On July 15, the NLRB dismissed those objections and officially certified our union, confirming what workers had already made clear at the ballot box!

Since our victory, we've been hard at work building our union. We have elected a 20-member bargaining committee representing workers from all three stores and are developing proposals for our first union contract.

We hope Healthy Living will respect the certified election results and come to the bargaining table ready to negotiate in good faith. Our goal is to reach a strong first contract by Labor Day.
